PrEP – The Newest HIV Prevention Tool

The goal of PrEP is to prevent HIV infection from taking hold if you are exposed to the virus. This is done by taking one pill every day. These are some of the same medicines used to keep the virus under control in people who are already living with HIV. It is an additional tool for people to consider in the HIV prevention toolbox.

☐  I’m gay or bisexual and have anal sex without using a condom.
☐  My partner is HIV positive.
☐  My relationship is not mutually monogamous.
☐  I’m gay or bisexual and been diagnosed with an STD in the last 6 months.
☐  I’m straight, don’t use condoms – and my partner is at substantial risk for HIV because of injection drug use or is a male who has sex with other males.
☐  I inject drugs and share injection equipment with others.
